Early life:

In his early life Jack Brabham was involved in car mechanics and when he was 12, he put his mind to learning about family cars and trucks. He studied technical education along with technical drawing and metalwork (Nye, 2004).
From his early age Jack was interested in engineering and when he was just fifteen years old, he got a job at a local garage while he was attending a mechanical course in the evening session. He immediately opened his own garage selling motorbikes and he used the back portion of his parents' property as his workshop where he planned to manage his business (Nye, 2004).
Jack Brabham enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force when he crossed his 18th birthday. He was eager to become a pilot but due to excessive aircrew he decided to put his expertise to flight mechanic as this profession was in deficiency. At the age of 20, he was released from the Royal Australian Air Force with the position of an expert aircraftman. He established his own workshop for the purpose of providing repair services.

Racing career in Australia & Europe:

Jack Brabham was motivated by one of his American friends and he then started racing. Actually the concept of midget car racing was quite famous in Australia, catching the attention of thousands of race watchers. Jack was not supposed to continue with the idea of driving and he remained interested in building a car with his friend Schonberg ( Nye 2004).
In the beginning Schonberg drove the device that was made using a motor cycle engine. In 1948 Jack was convinced by someone to give up workshop-related tasks and then he put his efforts into racing cars. By that time he became a competitor and winner at different reputable tracks in Australia. Jack was quite expert in driving but he used to ensure quick reflexes while driving (Nye 2004)). He won the following championships at that specific time:
In 1948 Australian speed car racing championship
In 1949 South Australian championship
In 1950 – 1951 Australian championship
By that time Jack was able to develop his interest in road racing and therefore, he purchased a series of racing cars from the renowned Cooper Car Company and he made cars according to his style of racing where drivers can compete on using closed circuits and in this work his father supported him. There was also a company named Redex that provided him with enough counseling. Jack beat his rivalsin Australian and New Zealand till1955 and he took a long series of victories that also covered the championship in 1953 named Queensland Road Racing (Australian Motor Sport.). At that time people used to call him Black Jack as his nick name. He later on was convinced by one of the managers in the UK in to attempt a racing season in Europe ( Nye, 2004) .
Jack arrived in Europe in 1955 and he selected to live in the UK where he purchased another Cooper that could be used to race in local events. His style was crowd pleasing and also he made visits to the Cooper manufacturing unit where he became a friend of Charlie and John Cooper. Brabham took the cars to the race after many requests done by the factory team and this was a strong motivation (Dracket1985).

Retirement:

Brabham did not want to leave his workplace but his wife motivated him to shift to a farm between Melbourne and Sydney ( Nye 2004). Actually his wife wanted his sons living away from motorsport. Brabham carried on his interests in businesses comprising of garages, dealing in cars, and managing Aviation Company at micro level. Brabham set up his team in 1971 to build engines in order to use racing applications (Engine Developments Ltd). In the early 1980s Brabham won two championships and the team kept in Formula One.
